12/08/10: Pipefest Australia held at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden, Coffs Harbour on Sunday 8th August was a huge success for a first time event. More than 70 pipers & drummers from Armidale Pipe Band, Bellinger River Pipe Band, Coffs Coast Pipes & Drums, Grafton District Pipe Band, Hastings District Pipe Band, Wingham Services Club Pipes & Drums and individual pipers and Drummers who came from Queensland Country united as one band to raise funds for Cancer Council NSW. Thanks also to the Coffs Harbour Scottish Country Dance group, Coffs Coast Drum Line, Colin Phillips (English Knight) & Ray Ellington (Scottish Highlander) for their re-enactment & all those who worked extremely hard to put the event together. The event raised just under AU$2000 for the Cancer Council, which is a fantastic result considering most of it came from "gold coin" donations from those who attended on the day. Special thanks to the APBA NSW Branch for boosting the tally with their donation of $250.

A big THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who supported the event.
